Ice warning on North East roads
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of ice from Yorkshire to Northumberland, with wintry showers overnight leading to some ice, primarily on untreated surfaces but perhaps also where grit has been washed off by frequent showers.
There is also a chance of snow on the hills, which could produce slushy conditions even at lower levels.
