A choir made up of African children who have lost one or both parents is to return to Tyneside.

The Watoto Children’s Choir from Uganda is touring to raise awareness of the issues faced by many children in their country. They are just a small proportion of the 50 million children in Africa who have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS, war, poverty and disease.

But despite this its shows are still always an uplifting experience.

The inspirational and challenging “Oh What Love” concert is an explosion of musicality, rhythm, dance and colour.

The choir will be performing its “Oh What Love” Live Tour concert at West Harton Methodist Church, Boldon Lane/Harton Lane, South Shields, today.

If you miss it there, the choir will be at Wesley Memorial Methodist Church, Durham Road, Low Fell, Gateshead, tomorrow.

Both concerts begin at 7pm and admission is free.
