Jan Kirchhoff Watch: Nightmare debut for ex-Bayern Munich defender in Sunderland's defeat to Spurs
New signing Jan Kirchhoff endured a miserable debut for Sunderland in the defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

With the game evenly poised at 1-1, Sam Allardyce replaced Danny Graham with the German defender and switched to three centre-backs.
It backfired, with the £750,000 signing from Bayern Munich enduring an awful afternoon.
The strapping centre-back came on just before the hour mark, within a minute, Spurs had taken the lead through Mousa Dembele.
Kirchhoff wasn't at fault for that one, with Dembele finding the corner of the net.

But it quickly went wrong for the German.
In the 67th minute Christian Eriksen put Spurs 3-1 up, his shot taking a wicked deflection off Kirchhoff's leg.
The defender had turned his back and stuck out a lazy leg, it was woeful from an experienced defender.
It soon got worse.
He clumsily brought down Danny Rose in the 79th minute for a penalty.
It was an awful challenge and Harry Kane beat Jordan Pickford from the spot to make it 4-1.
Kirchhoff also failed to rush back quickly on more than one occasion when Spurs broke at pace.
Overall, it was a miserable welcome to life in England.
At fault for two of the goals, it was certainly a debut to forget.
