The gloves will be off when former fighters gather later this year to celebrate the remarkable achievements of a South Tyneside sporting club.
It will be 30 years in October since the establishment of Bilton Hall Amateur Boxing Club in Jarrow.
From humble beginnings, it has gone on to achieve great things during its three decades of nurturing talent.
Among its most remarkable achievements has been the famous boxers it has attracted to visit it – including world champions Sugar Ray Leonard and Ricky Hatton.
And the memories will be flowing when a 30th anniversary bash is staged at the club on Saturday, October 3 from 7pm.
It promises to be a special night and has been organised by Martyn Devlin, the club boss and the only remaining original member from the 1985 launch.
He’s hoping that former club members, coaches and anyone who has played a part in its history will pop along to share their memories.
Martyn said: “To celebrate the occasion, I am asking all those who have boxed, coached or been part of the club over the years to meet at the gym for a social gathering and group photograph.
“I will show photos and video footage of sparring and training session from the early days, and it will be great to meet up again and share stories from past times.
“There will be a buffet and drinks and maybe an after party at a chosen venue.”
