Jarrow comedian Carl Hutchinson is taking to the stage this week with his latest show.

Carl Hutchinson’s Learning The Ropes is at The Stand in High Bridge, Newcastle on Tuesday.

The show will see the 27-year-old talking about his love of wrestling and detailing the brutal training he has gone through after deciding to give the sport a go himself.

He said: “I’m a life-long wrestling fan, ever since my dad took me to see the WWF when I was six.

“It’s the one thing that I’ve stuck with my whole life, I still watch it now.

“The only other thing I’ve been a fan of for that long is comedy. I’ve tried my hand at comedy and thought I had to try being a wrestler.”

He added: “It’s not about going on to do it professionally or to win, it’s about trying something I’ve wanted to try my whole life.”

Carl has been training since October at Birtley Boxing Club in Gateshead.

Tickets for the 8.30pm show cost £8. Doors open at 7pm. To book, go to www.thestand.co.uk or call 0191 300 9700.
