A Jarrow restaurant is on a crusade to give the public food for thought.

The inaugural South Tyneside Restaurant Week, organised by the borough council, will run from Saturday, October 3 to Saturday, October 10.

A wide range of venues from across the borough have already agreed to take part, offering visitors the chance to enjoy deals on everything from curry and ice cream to traditional fish and chips.

Among the latest to sign up is Martino’s Italian restaurant, Jarrow. Restaurant manager Matthew Porter said: “We’re proud to be supporting South Tyneside Restaurant Week 2015 and hope it will help to highlight the wide range of options available for eating out across the borough.”

Along with Martino’s, Jarrow Hall Café, at nearby Bede’s World, will also be participating in the initiative. For more information visit www.visitsouthtyneside.co.uk, search South Tyneside Events on Facebook, or follow STynesideEvents on Twitter.
