Roofing have been in poor form, having been beaten 5-0 and 4-0 in the space of seven days by Atherton and Newcastle Benfield respectively.

Marske have made a relatively strong start to the campaign, taking 28 points from their first 17 games and occupying seventh place in the league table.

The Roofing joint-manager said: “There’s players here with good reputations but that doesn’t matter unless they’re doing it on the pitch for Jarrow Roofing.

“What they’re putting in isn’t good enough.”

Saturday’s defeat against Newcastle Benfield saw Roofing field two debutants in their back four. Daryll Donnelly was the standout player after joining from Seaham Red Star where he had previously played under Collingwood, while ex-Hartlepool United man Darren Holden started at left-back.

“I know what his qualities are, I know how good he is,” Collingwood said of Donnelly. “Daryll was a 7/10 on Saturday, some games he’ll be an eight or nine out of 10, but you’ll always get care and hurt from him. I thought Holden was fantastic. The two new signings were our best players by far and are already showing genuine affiliation for the club.

“Daryll’s come here with an open mind, he was fuming after the match on Saturday because he’s not used to getting beat having come from a top six side at Seaham. That’s the mentality we want. We want the players to show hurt. The ability’s here it’s just a mentality issue.”

The match is a 7.30pm kick-off at the Boldon CA Ground.
