Jarrow Roofing welcome West Allotment Celtic to the Boldon CA Sports Ground tomorrow, as they look to continue their climb away from the relegation zone.

Last time out the Roofers recorded an accomplished 4-2 over victory Sunderland RCA, thanks to a first-half hat-trick from striker Paul Chow.

After a barren run without a win earlier in the year, Roofing have recently picked up their form and now look to be all-but safe from the drop down to the Northern League Division Two.

Manager Richie McLoughlin is pleased not just with the upturn in results, but also the improved performances which his side have been putting in.

“Against RCA the team worked well together,” he said. “To be honest, we did the same in the 3-1 loss to Shildon, we were just unfortunate.

“The lads put in the same commitment last time out against RCA but thankfully we had a bit more luck on our side unlike the other night (against Shildon).”

Tomorrow’s opponents sit in 15th place in the table, two places above Roofing, but they have had the advantage of playing three more games.

Celtic have had one of the leakiest defences in the league this term, but they carry a significant goal threat and McLoughlin is wary of the potential danger they possess.

“I’ve seen them a couple of times this season and they’re a good side,” he continued. “But if we can get a strong side out with everybody fit then we should give them a decent game.

“We’ve made a couple of good signings and they should be available to help us out. Celtic are doing well at the minute and it should be a good, tight, game.”

The Roofing boss was pleased with the way his side played with the ball on the ground in the last match against RCA, and wants to take a similar approach on Saturday.

“We need to play the same way on Saturday as we did last time out,” he added. “Keeping it tight at the back is the priority but we will go for goals as well.

“We want to play football. We have done this well in the last few games and we’ve looked better for it.”

McLoughlin will have almost a full squad of players to choose from as Corey Barnes and Liam Atkin return to the fold. Captain Alex White is a doubt after missing the last clash, but may yet still play some part.

Kick off is 3pm at the Boldon CA Sports Ground.
