John has designs on success with Hebburn firm RDA

The Monkton Business Park firm, which has just celebrated its 10th anniversary, has appointed John Fitzgibbon as senior consultant.

He brings more than 30 years’ experience of the catering design industry to the role, having held senior positions within a range of companies UK-wide, including Gardner Merchant and Lockhart Catering.

He has also worked as a freelance consultant helping several catering design companies to grow their business.

John has built up an impressive portfolio over the years, particularly in the education and healthcare sectors, and has completed several major NHS and University projects, as well as many diverse independents.

“I first met and worked with managing director Roy Addyman 21 years ago and I am delighted to be working with him again,” said John.

“The design capabilities, quality and workmanship RDA provide are second to none.

“That, coupled with the strong team of industry experts it has on board and the family feel to the business, is what initially attracted me to the role.

“I am looking forward to a successful new venture, which I am confident will help RDA continue to grow.”

John is the third appointment the company has made to its sales and marketing team in less than 12 months due to increased business across a range of sectors including garden centres, business and industry and the high street.

October saw the arrival of Louise Ward as an additional business development manager and Caroline Anderson as PR and marketing manager.

RDA has handled design and installation of catering and retail facilities for multi-national blue chip companies, education and NHS Trusts, contract caterers and private businesses throughout the UK.

Restaurant Design Associates was founded by husband and wife Roy and Judith Addyman.

The firm started trading in February 2008.

The business has enjoyed rapid growth since its establishment, and now has a turnover of £7.5million and more than 20 staff members.
