Lane now open following lorry blaze on A1
A lorry fire is caused traffic misery for commuters using the A1 this morning.
The vehicle, carrying beer, caught fire at around 7am on the A1 northbound near the junction for Gosforth.
Emergency services were called out to tackle the blaze and the road was closed.
One lane has now been re-opened on the A1 northbound carriageway, however, police are still warning motorists should still expect delays.
The driver was uninjured.
