A large police presence has been seen on Monday, March 1, at Temple Park in South Shields as officers continue to search for Mark Thompson who went missing from South Tyneside District Hospital at around 8am on Saturday, February 27.

Police believe that the 37-year-old has sustained a serious injury to his stomach but left the hospital before receiving any treatment and concerns for his welfare are growing.

Mark is described as around 6ft tall, bald and of slim build.
