This weekend is your last chance to donate to the appeal, run in partnership with North East charity Hope 4 Kidz, which hopes to bring a smile to those children in our community most in need.

Christmas is such an exciting time of year and there is no greater joy than hearing the squeals of delight from excited children when they wake on Christmas morning to find their presents.

Sadly, there are many people in our community who find this time of year very stressful as they are unable to provide any treats for their children.

Thanks to your donations many of these youngsters will wake on Christmas morning to a gift especially for them.

We have already received hundreds of gifts and South Tyneside Hospital and local women’s refuges are among the places to benefit from your generosity.

We are appealing for gifts suitable not just for young children but also young adults, who are often forgotten.
