THE deadline is looming in our competition to find the best in the arts, culture and leisure scenes.
But there’s still time for Sunderland Echo/Shields Gazette readers to put in their favourites in categories ranging from restaurants to children’s venues, takeaways to parks and community areas, and hotels to the best shopping experience.
What a response we had when we asked people to come forward with entries for the What’s On Where awards. We have been inundated with the names of pubs, clubs, hotels and restaurants.
Shopping outlets, entertainers, parks and theatre performances have all been nominated and our thanks go to everyone who has taken the time to get involed.
We are now down to the last week before we close the competition to entries and that gives you enough time to come up with even more names.
Let’s make the task even more difficult for the judges.
The awards are held in association with our weekly entertainments guide, Wow 24/7. It’s only the second time we have held the awards and we want to build on the success of last year’s great inaugural competition.
We will be revealing the winners on February 26 in a glittering finale at the Best Western Roker Hotel.
That means there’s plenty of time to tell us about the clubs, pubs, shops, theatres and diners which deserve to win.
The deadline for entries is February 5. Then the judges will draw up a shortlist from all the contenders.
But in the meantime, we want you to send in the names of your very own favourites. Enter your nominations here.
