According to the information on the back of the bus photo, Edward Hall established Hall Bros in South Shields in 1930. No doubt the company had many a mystery tour.

And there’s a mystery involving the identity of the people pictured in their finery. Do you recognise them and the occasion?

Also having a good time were these South Shields Brownies, who were taking part in their annual challenge at Cleadon in 1978.

Grappling fans will no doubt have been happy to see the two wrestlers pictured battling it out in the ring, and there were smiles all round when ‘bubbly’ Barbara Windsor handed over the keys of a new self-build home to a Marsden couple.
