Letter of the week: 'We are lucky to have the NHS here on South Tyneside'
I was admitted with a high irregular heartbeat and a chest infection on Monday, February 26.
On that day my daughter rang 111 describing my symptoms.
The operator immediately called for an ambulance, which attended within a matter of minutes.

Throughout that time their kind and compassionate nature put my mind at rest. The hospital diagnosed a chest infection and irregular heartbeat and prescribed medication to improve my condition.
I would like to thank the nurses and doctors of Emergency Assessment Unit and Ward 2 for their outstanding care during my stay in hospital.
Special mention must also be made to Dr Wiseman who treated me with great respect and understanding.

We are lucky to have the NHS and I am a very grateful recipient of its expert care.
