X FACTOR stars Little Mix have released their new music video – and it features some very important extras.
Norma Thirlwall and Debbie Dufty, the mothers of South Shields band members Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards, appear in the video for the band’s new single, Change Your Life.
The video, which takes fans backstage at the group’s first solo tour, was posted to video-sharing website YouTube on Thursday, and already it’s racked up hundreds of thousands of views.
The group, which also stars Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, are touring their debut album, DNA.
The video shows the girls singing to the track in a studio as well as preparing to go on stage.
Norma, who lives in Laygate, South Shields, said: “I didn’t even know we were going to be on it. I was a bit embarrassed when I saw it.
“They were filming over two days so, after a while, everyone forgot the cameras were there, so it looks really natural.
“After the show in Rhyl, all the mums went backstage to see the girls and that’s what you see in the video.”
She added: “I love the video. I think it shows how much fun the girls have, and it’s great for the fans. Everyone has been so positive about it and I’ve had loads of tweets from people saying that me and Jade look really cute together. It’s lovely.”
Debbie added: “They decided to film the girls behind the scenes during the tour and I think it’s a great idea.
“It shows that they’re just normal girls and tells the fans that they can achieve their dreams if they work for them.
“I didn’t realise I was going to be on it, so I got a bit of a shock when I saw it, but I think the video is brilliant.”
She added: “I’m so proud of Perrie and the girls. I can’t believe how far they’ve come since they won The X Factor.”
