The teenager was taken off 72 minutes into the 2-1 extra-time win against Crystal Palace due to a knee complaint, but Press Association Sport understands the uncapped striker is expected be fit for Friday's match at Sunderland's Stadium of Light.

Rashford linked up with the Three Lions on Monday along with United team-mates Wayne Rooney and Chris Smalling.

Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge, Adam Lallana, James Milner and Nathaniel Clyne also joined up with Hodgson's squad after being given time off following Wednesday's Europa League final defeat to Sevilla.

The north-west contingent joined those who did not play in Sunday's 2-1 win against Turkey for a training session, while those involved at the Etihad Stadium took part in warm-down exercises.

Tuesday is a rest day for the 26-man squad before training resumes at Manchester City's training complex on Wednesday.
