Diame admitted he "got lucky" with Newcastle United's equaliser at the Amex Stadium on Tuesday night.

The midfielder diverted a miscued shot from Christian Atsu past David Stockdale.

And substitute Ayoze Perez claimed all three points for Newcastle with a dramatic 89th-minute equaliser.

Ritchie has spoken about Diame's goal ahead of tomorrow's game against third-placed Huddersfield Town.

"Any lucky goal (scored in training) has been called 'a Diame'," said the winger, who won promotion to the Premier League with Bournemouth the season before last.

The 2-1 win over Brighton saw United return to the top of the Championship.

"It was a great result," said Ritchie. "Obviously, the way it came was very pleased as well.

"Confidence now is high. We go into the game with a lot of confidence."
