Reece Hall has racked up an impressive 100% attendance record since 2011.

The 11-year-old first attended Bedewell Primary School before it was re-located into the grounds of Hebburn Comprehensive School and became Hebburn Lakes.

His departure from the school also signals the end of an era as he was part of the last remaining year group from the former school.

His track record for attendance was discovered during a search of youngsters who had never missed a day during the school year.

School support and guidance officer Samantha Walton said: “He was one of a number of children who received certificates for never missing a day during the school year.

“It was only when I was looking, I realised Reece had never had a day off in all the time he has been a pupil, both at Bedewell Primary and here at Hebburn Lakes.

“I have been here for six years and I have never come across that before.”

Reece was awarded for his impressive attendance record with a certificate, a trophy and a gift of an art set.

Samantha added: “It was a lovely surprise for him when he was presented with the certificate. He was quite shocked and kept looking at his certificate.

“His mam and his nana were there to watch him receive his award and they were so proud.

“It was a lovely thing to recognise as it’s quite an achievement that in six years he has not had a day off from school.

“He is a little ray of sunshine and brings so much enjoyment to everyone. We are all so proud of him.”
