Memorial unveiled to South Tyneside fashion designer Christopher Redhead

The memory of a South Tyneside fashion designer is set to live on with the unveiling of a special memorial.

The sudden death of Christopher Redhead last year devastated his family and friends.

He was such a larger than life character. Since Chris died it has been really hard for us all.

The 31-year-old, from Jarrow, who moved to Tynemouth, was a much-loved and popular character within his social circles.

On Saturday a fun day and music event will take place at the Lakeside pub in Fellgate. which will include the unveiling of a memorial to Christopher at 10pm.

The event has been organised by his family with support from the pub.

Monies raised are being split between good causes Stay True and South Tyneside-based The Cruse Crew.

There will also be auctions and raffles throughout the event.

Stay True provides support to those suffering from issues associated with mental health, while the Cruse Crew provides activities for children and families who have suffered the loss of a loved one.

The event will feature children’s activities in the afternoon, including bouncy castles, facepainting and mascots, a photo booth.

DJs on the night include Jonny Hurrel, David Vaughan, Chris Pratt, Josh Dobson, David Ridley and Darryl Donnelly

His sister, Katie Redhead, 26, said: “Since Chris died 
it has been really hard for us all.

“He was such a larger-than-life character and into everything.”

Tickets are still available priced £5 for adults, children are free.

People will also be able to pay on the door.

The event starts at 2pm.
