Metro lines back up and running after disruption

Metro bosses say trains are back up and running following a temporary service suspension due to overhead damage.

A spokesman for Tyne and Wear Metro, said: "We have now resumed service between East Boldon and Sunderland.

"Trains are operating to all destinations on the South Hylton line, subject to delays.

"Metro apologise for the disruption to your journey and thank you for your patience."
