Metro services have now been resumed after a suspension was lifted on a part of the track.

Trains were stopped from calling at stations between South Gosforth and Shiremoor following a power surge, last night.

Emergency repairs were carried out during the night.

The suspension has now been lifted and a normal service has been resumed.
