Music lovers are in for a treat as an annual bandfest returns to a Jarrow pub.
The Monkton Bandfest will be held on Saturday at The Lord Nelson in Monkton Village, from 1.30pm.

This year’s acts are Melissa,The Alibis, Tiny Afro, Barely Human, Get Over It, Borderland and a closing set from the Albino Crocodiles.
Danny Campbell, one of the event’s organisers, said: “This is the seventh year we’ve organised the festival now and year just gets better and better.
“We’re hoping the weather will stay fine and lots of people will come on down.
“We’d like to thank South Tyneside Council and Leslie at the Nelson for all of their support.”
Children will also be in for a treat as there will be a visit from Captain Jack Sparrow, face painting, a bouncy castle and also a barbecue
Admission is £1 for an adult and children under 16 can enter for free, with all funds raised going to local good causes.
The Monkton Leek Show will also be talking place at the pub the following week on September 5.
This event is now celebrating its 152nd year.
Viewing is open to the public from 5pm on September 5 until 3pm on September 7 and admission is free.
