More memories of South Shields' De La Salle '˜family'
Today we feature a few more pictures tracing the history of a South Shields group which has helped shape the development of thousands of young townspeople.

One of them, Ruth Lloyd, recalls her time with the group.
She told us “When I first joined I only knew two other people who were very close friends of mine.
“But through the Mayor’s award I met many other young people, who were not necessarily at my school.

“Through the Mayors’ award we got little glimpses of how close the De la Salle family really was, through all the leaders who were so very caring, selfless and after having finishing their own awards had come back to continue being an active part of De la Salle.”
