Motorcyclist, 28, in hospital with head injury after John Reid Road crash in South Shields
An 28-year-old motorcyclist is in hospital with a head injury after a crash on a junction of the John Reid Road in South Shields.
A motorcycle and a black Hyundai car were involved in a collision at the junction of Winskill Road and John Reid Road at around 4.15pm on Wednesday, May 5.
Emergency services were called to the scene and a 28-year-old man on the motorcycle was taken to hospital with a head injury.
Thankfully his injuries were not considered to be life-threatening but he remains in hospital at this time where he is walking and talking.

Police have confirmed that the female driver had five children in the car during the incident aged one, three, five, six and seven, but have no reports of any injuries to the children or driver.
Enquiries into the circumstances around the collision are ongoing and now police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
