Motorcyclist continues to fight for life after South Shields crash

A motorcyclist who was injured in a crash in South Shields is continuing to fight for his life, police have confirmed.

Northumbria Police have said a man who had come off a red Kawasaki ZX636 A1P motorbike on Highfield Road remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital - nearly two weeks on since the crash.

Police were called to the incident at around 11.50pm on Friday, September 28, and the 28-year-old was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers want to speak to anyone who has a dash cam and may have captured the collision or the moments before it took place.
