So if you're deciding how to celebrate, take a look at our list of some of the best doughnuts to enjoy this week.

1. Raspberry jam

A classic - who can fault it.

2. Custard

If jam isn't your bag, custard is the next best thing. Creamy and sweet, it's the perfect treat.

3. Glazed

Not a fan of a messy doughnut? Opt for these instead. You might get some sugary syrup on your face, but at least you won't slop jam on your top!

4. Chocolate iced

Who can resist some chocolate? Pick out the ring of your choice with the glossiest finish and enjoy!

5. Iced with sprinkles

A friendly reminder of childhood.

6. Caramel or toffee

7. Sugar-dusted

Plain and simple.

8. Strawberry jam

Nice and messy.

9. Boston cream

Chocolate AND custard. Who says you have to choose?

But the best kind of doughnuts? Those for a good cause!
