Newcastle eye striker, Sunderland set for transfer boost; Liverpool, Spurs, Man City and Arsenal also make headlines
Newcastle United and Sunderland are both making transfer headlines today - one looking to splash the cash and the other hoping for a boost to their coffers.
Newcastle's defeat at Tottenham Hotspur last night showcased perfectly the need for the Magpies to spend big on a new striker in the summer.
The Magpies have already been linked with a number of swoops, with Rafa Benitez admitting they will need to smash their transfer record to get in a forward of pedigree, and speaking after the loss at Wembley, the Spaniard reiterated his desire to sign a top striker.
Newcastle have also been linked with West Brom defender Craig Dawson as Benitez prepares for another busy summer.
Down the road at Sunderland, Wahbi Khazri's future could hand the Black Cats a much-needed cash boost. The Tunisian winger is being chased by a trio of French clubs, with rennes, Marseille and Lyon all keen on his services after he impressed on loan in Ligue 1.
