Newcastle United are hopeful of a breakthrough in their bid to sign Andros Townsend '“ but the club is yet to agree a fee with Tottenham Hotspur.
Townsend is set to leave White Hart Lane this month after falling out of favour with Mauricio Pochettino.
And the 24-year-old, rated in the £14million-bracket by his club, is keen on a move to St James’s Park.
But, contrary to reports, Newcastle have not yet reached an agreement with Tottenham.
