Newcastle linked with shock swoop for former Arsenal and Sunderland striker
Former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has been linked with a shock move to Newcastle United.
The Danish frontman is unsettled at German side Wolfsburg and has stated his desire to quit the club this month.
Bendtner, who had a spell on loan at Sunderland in 2011-12 – and scored a penalty against Newcastle at St James’s Park – has seen his career stall in recent years.
And German newspaper Bild have claimed Newcastle are interested in a loan move for the 27-year-old.
The Magpies have previously been linked with Bendtner’s Wolfsburg team-mate Bas Dost.
