Newcastle linked with swoop for Frank Lampard
Lampard will leave Major League Soccer club New York City at the end of the year when his contract expires.
The Express claim that Newcastle and Brighton and Hove Albion are considering offering the ex-Chelsea midfielder a one-year deal should they return to the Premier League.

Hide AdUnited have also been linked with Lampard's former England team-mate Steven Gerrard, who is leaving LA Galaxy.
Asked about a move for Gerrard, Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez said: "I saw the Press talking about that.
“Stevie’s one of the best players I have coached, and he knows about football. Maybe it’s a challenge for him as a manager.
“I haven’t had any contact with him. We are just making sure we are ready for our game and we leave the speculation for the media

“If something happened, we would consider it, but it’s not a priority. We don’t need names. We don’t need to bring in these kind of players to make the difference, because we are already doing well.
“What we need is the right players for our team to find the balance. Maybe we will need young players that can grow. That is more or less the idea.”
