Newcastle United have topped the Premier League - for total days lost to injuries.

The Magpies suffered relegated this season, with the intervention of Rafa Benitez coming too late to stop the rot at St James’s Park.

A table just released shows the effect injuries have had on particular teams with the Toon on top, losing the most amount of days available for their first team squad to injury, at a staggering 2,288.

That contrasts with champions Leicester City who lost only 313 days combined for their whole first team squad. In second place behind Newcastle are Liverpool who lost 1,804 days and in third place Manchester United with 1,610.
