Newcastle United news: Saivet on way to Tyneside, 'strong' bid for midfielder

The winger is expected on Tyneside ahead of a transfer-window move to St James's Park.

Head coach Steve McClaren desperately needs reinforcements with his team 18th in the Premier League table and two points adrift of safety.

McClaren has responded to speculation linking the club with a move for Swansea City midfielder Jonjo Shelvey.
