Newcastle United's Brentford trip switched for TV coverage

The game, originally scheduled for Saturday, January 14, has been selected for live coverage on Sky Sports and as a result has been moved to Monday, January 16.

So instead of the regular 3pm weekend slot, the Magpies faithful will again face a long week day journey for the Championship clash. Kick-off is 7.45pm.

The selection of this game, is subject to results in the third round of the FA Cup, though.

If either should require a replay at that stage of the competition, the game is certain to switched again, reverting back to the original time and date two days previous. It would no longer be televised should this be the scenario.

The Brentford visit is just one of a pair of United games selected for Sky Sports in the New Year, with the home game against QPR on Wednesday, February 1 also being shown live.

However, the date and kick-off time will remain unchanged.
