Occupying 7th place on Christmas Day, Newcastle went on to secure their highest-ever return under Mike Ashley by finishing 5th.
14th at Christmas and still in the Europa League, the club avoided relegation by five points finishing 16th.
Newcastle stood four points off the Champions League places in 6th, however dropped to 10th by the end of the term.
The Magpies ranked 9th at Christmas but just league three wins in 2015 almost condemned them to relegation - surviving on the final day of the season.
Newcastle were just two points above the relegation zone at (17th) before falling into the second tier for the second time in seven years.
Rafa Benitezs side were 1st and remained in top spot before going on to lift the Championship title on the final day of the season v Barnsley.
Newcastle were 15th with 18 points before miraculously rising five places to finish the season in 10th.
