POLICE have ruled out foul play over the death of a man whose body was found in a South Tyneside play park.
It’s believed the grim discovery was made by scrap metal collectors early yesterday morning when they found the man lying at the entrance to a play area in the back lane behind Dacre Street in Chichester, South Shields.
Officers were called at about 7.34am and the man was declared dead at the scene.
Today police have revealed that they believe there was no third party involvement in the man’s death.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: “Inquiries have been carried out and police believe there was no third party involvement in his death.
“A report is being prepared for the coroner.”
