Its life flowing from the wound life had made.

I cried at the sight.

“Can’t we help,” I begged,

But you just turned your head,

“Nothing to do with me,” you said.

A country fought a lost war,

dying by the thousands.

Starving, killing for life.

Clinging to existence

with a thread of hope,

but you just turned your head,

“Nothing to do with me,” you said.

Looking up you saw the plane,

the sirens screamed their warning again.

But you just turned your head.

“Nothing to do with me,” you said.

And the mushroom cloud ate the dead.
