The class of 2015 has graduated – and although they may be only toddlers, Jarrow Day Nursery’s class of 2015 ended the school term in style, donning gowns and mortar boards.

The graduation ceremony was held at Jarrow Community Centre, and was a huge success.

The venue was changed this year as there was a high intake of children and the nursery could not accommodate them all.

The children collected their certificate and the ceremony ended with the traditional hat throwing, which received a huge round of applause.

Afterwards, there was a party and entertainment was provided by Mr Twister.

Nicola Dunn, nursery manager, said: “I was so proud of all the children and staff who had practiced for this day for months. The ceremony was well attended and there was not a dry eye in the house. In my nine years at the nursery this is by far the best ceremony I have ever witnessed.”
