The thunder, lightning and heavy downpours made life difficult for the cast and crew of Vera as filming took place at the fair.

Star Brenda Blethyn could be seen along with her character’s trademark Land Rover a Ocean Beach Pleasure Park on Monday, May 10.

But filming on an episode of series 11 of the ITV detective drama was not made easy in the afternoon, with bursts of heavy rain drenching the set – and the thunder possibly wasn’t welcome by the sound team either.

Brenda and the others on set could be seen disappearing indoors as the worst of the weather hit, with filming continuing as and when conditions eased.
