Coroner's search launched to trace family of late Sunderland man with South Shields links

An appeal has been launched to try and find the relatives of a Sunderland man who once lived in South Shields after his death in hospital.

Derek Dixon, 80, of Nelson Close, in Hendon, died in Sunderland Royal Hospital on Wednesday, June 3.

It is believed he was born in Newcastle, once lived in South Shields, and may have a daughter in Switzerland and another who has died.
