Pools at South Shields Haven Point leisure centre to close for two weeks

Haven Point’s leisure pool and teaching pool will close temporarily on Monday December 9 until Monday December 22.

The leisure facilities, on South Shields seafront, are being closed to allow for high level cleaning and maintenance work to be carried out on the building.

South Tyneside Council say the work is part of its annual maintenance programme.

All other facilities including the main pool and changing village will remain open as usual.

Residents are also reminded that they can use facilities at Hebburn Central and Jarrow Community Pool while the work takes place.

A Spokesperson for South Tyneside Council said: “We have scheduled the works to avoid school holiday periods and minimise disruption. This is a state-of-the-art facility so this type of maintenance work is routine.

“We appreciate people’s patience and apologise for any inconvenience.”
