Spooky trail helps South Tyneside youngsters enjoy Halloween safely during pandemic

Halloween may have been very different this year, but a terrifying trail in South Tyneside helped families across the borough celebrate safely.

Organised by Ruth Hall and Kiri Dowens, the fun Halloween trail saw families search for clues and spooky creatures around West Park and South Marine Park on Saturday, October 31.

The pair, who run book businesses Little Bears Book Cave and Curious Kids Corner, decided to put on the event in an effort to give youngsters a chance to enjoy Halloween in a Covid-secure way.

Families could make their own way around each park from the designated starting point, with plenty of hand sanitiser along the route.

Prizes were handed out to the best dressed and the first child to complete each trail. Let’s take a look at how the fun-filled day unfolded.
