The pair of swans forced cars to come to a standstill when they sauntered across the A184 near the Testo’s roundabout at Boldon on Friday, April 3.

Motorists, including a delivery van which was travelling on the road at the time, had no choice but to slow down and wait patiently while the wild birds crossed.
