Toney Minchella is delivering ice cream to homes in South Tyneside - Here's everything you need to know about the menu, prices and how to order

It’s the small pleasures in life that make a big difference and now those missing a Minchella’s ice cream will now be able to enjoy one from the safety of their own homes.

It comes as Toney Minchella announces a home delivery service for customers in the borough who are missing paying a visit to its numerous ice cream parlours as the coronavirus lockdown continues.

Customers will now be able to place orders from its lockdown menu by calling or texting their order and address to 07470508603.

They will then receive a delivery slot between 12pm and 5pm and can pay via contactless before enjoying the tasty treats from the comfort of their own home.

The lockdown menu offers the likes of 125ml, 500ml and one litre tubs, along with extras such as wafers and sprinkle cones.

The business decided to offer home delivery to customers after it forced to close the doors of all its cafes and stands on March 23 following the Government’s lockdown measures.

In a statement on its Facebook page Toney Minchella said: “The safety of our customers, staff, family and the greater public is a huge importance to us as a business. ⁣

“After following government guidelines throughout and adapting our business and service as much as we possibly could.

“It has become unethical to continue as we would like to encourage people to stay at home.

“We would like to thank each and everyone of our customers for their support and loyalty.”

And its home delivery service already seems to have gone down a treat with families in South Tyneside who have left rave reviews on the Toney Minchella Facebook page after receiving orders.

In a post on the page the business said: “A huge thank you to everyone who has already placed & received orders.

“Your support hasn’t gone unnoticed.”
