Two men remain in hospital following A194 crash near Port of Tyne
Emergency services were called to the A194 where a Seat Leon car crashed into railings and a wall near the Port of Tyne just before 3am on Sunday.
Northumbria Police have today (Monday, July 6) confirmed two men remain in hospital with serious serious injuries following the one-vehicle collision.

Hide AdThe eastbound carriageway of the A194 near Port of Tyne was closed for a number of hours between the petrol station and West Way.
Officers also carried out scene investigation work on the stretch of carriageway to try determine how the crash occurred. A police investigation remains ongoing and anyone with any information which may assist officers in their inquiries are urged to contact police via the Tell Us Something page of the force’s website.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: “Just before 3.30am on Sunday morning, police received a report of a one vehicle collision on the eastbound A194 near Port of Tyne in South Shields.
“A Seat Leon car was reported to have collided with nearby railings and a wall.

Hide Ad“Emergency services attended the incident and two men were taken to hospital with serious injuries. The road has now reopened following scene investigation work by officers.
