POLICE have appealed for witnesses to a South Shields road accident which left a teenager in hospital with leg injuries.
It happened at 8.20am on Thursday, November 20, but police have only just released details.
The boy was struck by a car as he crossed Stanhope Road, near its junction with West Park Road.
He was taken to South Tyneside District Hospital and was later transferred to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
The boy is still in hospital receiving treatment for non-life-threatening leg injuries.
