Police appeal after man attacked on Metro
At around 5.45pm on Sunday, July 15, Northumbria Police received a report that a 36-year-old man had been repeatedly punched on the arm and body while riding on the Metro from South Shields to Newcastle.
After getting off at Central Station at around 5.35pm, the man was attacked again by the unknown offender who punched him in the face causing a split lip and bloody nose.

Hide AdOfficers have described the offender as a white man aged between 30 and 35 with short brown hair.
He was wearing a blue polo shirt with a white horizontal band across the front, with black and white chequered shorts.
