Police are investigating a disturbance in South Shields

Officers in South Tyneside are appealing for information following a disturbance involving a number of men.

Northumbria Police said at around 7:13pm on Saturday, November 26, they received a number of reports from members of the public about a disturbance in Brownlow Road and Afton Court.

Witnesses reported seeing three vehicles involved in the incident and a number of men.

Officers attended however the men and vehicles had left the scene, but inquiries are ongoing to trace those involved.

Extra officers have been in the area speaking to residents and anyone who saw what happened or who has any information that could help with the investigation is asked to contact 101 quoting reference number 902 26/11/16.
