Police identify body found in South Shields pond
Police have identified the woman who was found dead in a pond in South Shields.
Though officers know her identity, it has not been released to the public.
Police were called around 8am on Sunday morning over concerns a body was in a pond in Temple Memorial Park. Emergency services attended and the body of a woman was recovered.
Enquiries have been carried out and there is not believed to be any third party involvement in the death and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
