Police warning to drivers as torrential rain hits North East
Drivers are being urged to take care in torrential rain this morning.
The Met Office is predicting heavy downpours across the North East.
Durham Police issued a message to motorists through its Twttier feed.
"Heavy rainfall is forecast across our region, please slow down, drive to the conditions and be aware that in wet weather stopping distances can double," it said.
